Anniversary
These days we celebrate our second anniversary. We are pleased with the progress of the site and all your enthusiastic feedback and large number of contributions. The number of fans, photos, videos, reports, match visits, stadium visits, comments and collectables is an indication that FootballFans is on its way to be what we aim to be; an international site for the real, active football fans (pl)easing your fan life.
New features
The last few months we have been working on the mobile features to enhance your real time match experience and also made some small improvements.
Quick Match Locator on your mobile phone
We created a version of FootballFans for the mobile phone; a quick and easy access to the latest postings, live score and today’s matches. You can also search for all the individual matches in our database. Next to that the Quick Match Locator is available, using your location, calculating the distance and finding the available matches within short distance. So when you are in urgent need for a game of football, you can always find one nearby. This feature can be used worldwide as we have over 11,000 stadiums in our database and we cover lots of competitions in many countries.
We invite you to test this mobile version (m.FootballFans.eu) and give your feedback. All feedback helps us to improve it.
Android app
Besides our mobile version of FootballFans, we also created an Android app to share your match experience with other football fans real time. This app allows you to register, when you do not have an account yet or login to FootballFans, when you already have one.
If you are currently attending a match, pressing the ‘Check In’ button, will find the match you're at, register you as a visitor and immediately show the most recent fan-updates concerning this match. You can comment, your pictures will be posted and you can rate the match afterwards. And everything is posted real time.
Besides only viewing your own attended match you can also view recent matches or upcoming fixtures. When selecting an individual match you can view all the comments, see who is attending, the goal scorers, the posted pictures, the yellow and red cards, the ratings, etc.
This app enables you to share your experience with other FootballFans. We tested it recently at a Europe League match and intend to launch it next month. Once this app has been fully completed we hope to create an iPhone version as well.
